Romance is essence of life

Today, when I woke up I was in the rhythm , a rhythm that made me feel good, so I just picked up my old diary and thought to share the quotes from it , which I have been scribbling and reading over and over again when I am sad, happy, alone or on travel…..

Its almost 25 years of travelling from my first encounter of attraction, I can say that romance is a vital force that uplifts our souls and ties us to our own core of existence. It is one of the most profound and integral aspect that we experience called life.. The comforting hug of connection in a chilly world, the subtle murmur of love in the breeze, with the soft touch of hope in the shadows, all these feelings, emotions and thoughts build around and within us.

Here I would like to share some very heart touching quotes by Rumi’s that have changed me to my core…

“The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.”

“Allow yourself to be silently drawn by the peculiar pull of what you truly love,”

“Love is the bridge between you and everything,”

“Love is not an emotion, it’s your very existence.”

“Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.”

“Don’t be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth.”

“The wound is the place where the Light enters you,”

“You were born with wings, why prefer to crawl through life?”

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

My conception of romance and love has been greatly influenced by Rumi’s poetry, which has elegance and wisdom that navigates me through the maze of emotions. I had this perception that love is all about what we are getting in a relationship an outward manifestations of love—the outward gestures and ephemeral moments of passion—before coming across his poetry. But Rumi unveiled a more profound, transcendent aspect of love—one that reaches the spirit and transcends the material world. I learnt from his writing that love is a way of being, a relationship that transcends geography and time, rather than merely an emotion. His description of love as a bridge connecting the individual to the universe struck a chord with me, changing my outlook from looking for love outside of myself to finding it within.

I have been in tremendous pain of searching why me? Rumi’s insight that “the wound is the place where the Light enters you” helped me understand that love is also a path of healing and growth, when I opened up and accepted the pain & my vulnerability I felt that our deepest pains can lead to our most profound transformations.

What I feel now is that the core of a happy life is romance. It serves as the link between the world, other people, and ourselves. It’s the dance of love, the force that elevates us above the everyday, and the spiritual route that brings us to enlightenment and self-realization. Romance energises our creativity, piques our imagination, and makes life more enjoyable.
